Most morning-routine advice asks for more time than most of us have. But the value of a morning ritual isn't its length — it's that it happens before the day starts asking things of you.
Start with water, not the phone
A glass of water within the first few minutes of waking is the simplest habit to build. Leave the glass out the night before so the choice is already made.
Make one thing slowly
Coffee, tea, or breakfast — pick one thing and make it by hand, without rushing. The point is a few minutes of attention on something small and pleasant.
Open the curtains
Natural light early in the day is one of the easiest signals you can give your body that the day has begun.
Decide one thing
Before you look at messages, decide the single most important thing you'll do today. Write it down. Everything else can wait ten minutes.
Small changes, repeated daily, are the whole idea.
